Mel Ashton


Mel Ashton holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Western Australia, is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and Graduate of the AICD Directors Course. He has over 35 years' experience and leverages his strategic approach and business network in his role as a specialist in Corporate Restructuring and Finance and as a Professional Company Director, including his current Non-Executive Director roles at Aurora Labs Ltd and the Hawaiian Property Group. Mel has been Chair on the Boards of the ASX listed companies Gryphon Minerals Ltd, Venture Minerals Ltd, Resource Development Group Ltd and Empired Ltd amongst others. His former roles include President and Director of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, Vice President and Director of Fremantle Football Club Ltd, Chairman of Cullen Wines (Australia) Pty Ltd and Acting CEO of Royal Flying Doctor Service (2017-18).

Chief Executive Officer

Richard Henfrey recently concluded 10 years’ experience on the executive team of major publicly listed vitamin supplements business Blackmores, culminating in his appointment as CEO.

Richard drove major change at Blackmores, particularly the significant move to become a manufacturer for the first time in the company’s history, and he oversaw the doubling of Blackmores supply chain capacity to meet extraordinary and sudden demand from China. His successful implementation of this strategy contributed to Blackmores’ net profit after tax for the 2016 financial year increasing by 115 per cent.

He has also worked in a managerial capacity at another prominent Australian business, Telstra, where he led a national specialist sales team of 160 sales professionals. He started his professional career in the UK telco industry.

Richard has notably served as Board President of peak industry body Complementary Medicines Australia, and is a graduate of the University of Cambridge, holding a Master of Arts degree in Natural Sciences, specialising in genetics and molecular/cell biology.

Julius Matthys, B.Com UWA, has significant executive experience having spent 36 years in the resources sector. He has held senior executive roles including President Worsley Alumina JV, Marketing Director BHP Iron Ore,  Alumina and Aluminium. He has worked in Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and The Netherlands. He is currently Chair of Council at John XXIII College.

Rod Sutton

Non-Executive Director

Rod Sutton has over 25 years' experience in business advisory and management. He is currently a Special Advisor to the Asia Pacific region of FTI Consulting and is based in Hong Kong. Upon joining FTI Consulting in 2010, a professional services and consulting business listed on the New York Stock Exchange, Rod was appointed as its Chairman of Asia Pacific. He had oversight of all elements of the Asia Pacific business including FTI Consulting’s numerous client-facing activities, regional and global strategy, vetting of acquisition opportunities and management of all support functions including but not limited to the Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Marketing and Operations departments. Also, he was a member of FTI Consulting’s global Executive Committee. He moved back to a full client facing role in June 2017 as a Special Advisor. Before joining FTI Consulting, Rod was an Executive Director of Ferrier Hodgson with whom he commenced his career in Melbourne in 1988. He relocated permanently to Hong Kong in 2002.

David Fenlon has enjoyed an elaborate career in both public and private businesses, building success both for other businesses and his own, and being involved in executive and board experiences, all across Europe, Australia and Asia. Proud of the fact that his experience permits him to be an enterprise wide and transformational leader, he has worked extensively within retail, FMCG, services, new technology and well-being. David joined Blackmores in 2013 and had responsibility for both territory and whole of business functionality. He was a Director of Special Olympics foundation for two years until June 2019 and is on the board of The Quest for life foundation. David served as Group CEO and Managing Director of BWX Ltd between July 2019 to January 2022. He is currently the CEO of the PA Group and Non-Executive Chairman of Nutritional Growth Solutions ( NGS: ASX) and also Non-Executive Director of Elixinol ( EXL: ASX).

Alistair Stevens joined Quintis from ThinkSmart Limited, where he held the role of CFO and Company Secretary.  Prior to ThinkSmart, Alistair served as Deputy CFO of BSkyB plc, one of the top 30 companies in the UK by market capitalisation.  In addition to his role as Deputy CFO of BSkyB plc, Alistair sat on the Board of Directors of several UK companies and brings that extensive experience to this role.



Chief Sales Officer

Carmel Power joined Quintis in July 2021 as Chief Sales Officer. In this role, she is responsible to drive and execute Quintis’ strategy for aggressive growth across all segments with a focus on the Cosmeceutical, Aromatherapy, Fragrance, TCM, Incense and Wood segments, and to build a position for Quintis as the premium global supplier of ethical, sustainable, and reliably sourced sandalwood.
Carmel comes to Quintis after 10 years at DSM, a global leader in B2B Human Nutrition and Health ingredients. During this time, she held positions including Global Commercial Manager (Nutritional Lipids) in Switzerland, Senior Marketing Consultant in The Netherlands, Director for Personalisation in Singapore and Sales Director for Oceania. She has also contributed to DSM’s D&I initiatives as the lead for the APAC chapter of the Women’s Inspired Network within DSM.

Chief Marketing Officer

Vanessa Ligovich is the Chief Marketing Officer at Quintis. Vanessa joins the group from Mastercard where she was Global Product Manager, responsible for a $200m business. Vanessa’s career spans more than 20 years in senior marketing roles across industries including retail, financial services, healthcare and travel.  She has worked in Australia, the UK and Italy and has extensive experience in global strategy development, multi-channel marketing, brand and product development, and designing value-adding loyalty programs. Vanessa is an advocate for gender equality and sustainability and is a committee member for Perth’s International Women’s Day Committee, supporting UN Women Australia, and the IOFI-IFRA Sustainability Charter. Vanessa holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Curtin University and is a Certified Practising Marketer (CPM) with the Australian Institute of Marketing.

General Manager Forestry

Steve Hindley has a Bachelor of Forestry Science from the University of Canterbury and Executive MBA from the Massey University, Wellington. Steve was previously the General Manager - Tasman Pine Forests Ltd (a Sumitomo Forestry Co subsidiary) which manages a forest estate of approximately 36,200 hectares. In that role he was involved in establishing the management and operating systems as well as the supervision and management of the entire plantation estate. During his career Steve has worked in various roles in New Zealand, Ecuador, Singapore and Japan spanning forestry management and end markets. Steve is a member of the Institute of Forestry in New Zealand and the Institute of Foresters in Australia.

Mathew Regan joined Quintis from leading mining technology company IMDEX where he led the digital transformation program of works. With extensive executive management experience in business transformation, strategy, innovation and supply chain optimisation, Mathew has a demonstrated record of turning innovative concepts into commercial realities.

During his eighteen-year tenure at Australia’s largest grain exporter CBH Group, Mathew aided the transformation of the Western Australian grains industry, improving outcomes for both customers and growers.
