Chief Executive Officer
Mr Matthys, B.Com UWA, has significant executive experience having spent 36 years in the resources sector. He has held senior executive roles including President Worsley Alumina JV, Marketing Director BHP Iron Ore, Alumina and Aluminium. He has worked in Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and The Netherlands. He is currently Chair of Council at John XXIII College. Mr Matthys was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Quintis on 3 April 2017.
Chief Financial Officer
Mr Stevens joined Quintis from ThinkSmart Limited, where he held the role of CFO and Company Secretary. Prior to ThinkSmart, Mr Stevens served as Deputy CFO of BSkyB plc, one of the top 30 companies in the UK by market capitalisation. In addition to his role as Deputy CFO of BSkyB plc, Mr Stevens sat on the Board of Directors of several UK companies and brings that extensive experience to this role.
Chief Marketing Officer
Mr Kandiah holds a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) from Deakin University and a Master of Business Administration (Executive) from the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM). He has over thirty years’ experience in sales and marketing including as General Manager Argyle Pink Diamonds, General Manager Marketing Rio Tinto and Head of Sales and Marketing for iron ore and bauxite companies. He was formerly adjunct lecturer in Marketing at AGSM and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Head of Production
Mr Nortier holds an N4 Engineering South Africa Technical College Certificate in Management Higher Diploma. He has a mechanical trade and extensive experience in production and plant management. Mr Nortier has more than 10 years' experience in the timber industry managing a Particle and MDF board plant where he oversaw the day to day running of the plant and the harvesting operations. He has managed a vast variety of projects from turn key to self-designed and implemented.
General Manager Forestry
Mr Hindley has a Bachelor of Forestry Science from the University of Canterbury and Executive MBA from the Massey University, Wellington. Mr Hindley was previously the General Manager - Tasman Pine Forests Ltd (a Sumitomo Forestry Co subsidiary) which manages a forest estate of approximately 36,200 hectares. In that role he was involved in establishing the management and operating systems as well as the supervision and management of the entire plantation estate. During his career Mr Hindley has worked in various roles in New Zealand, Ecuador, Singapore and Japan spanning forestry management and end markets. Mr Hindley is a member of the Institute of Forestry in New Zealand and the Institute of Foresters in Australia.
Deputy General Manager Forestry
Mr Barnes completed an Agricultural Science degree in 1996 at the University of Adelaide and has worked as an agronomist in South Australia and the Northern Territory for 8 years providing advice on broad acre cropping, irrigated small seed production and horticulture. Mr Barnes joined Quintis in March 2005 and has been responsible for providing an agronomic focus to plantation management. He has developed significant experience in drip irrigation systems, and has overseen the large scale introduction of these systems into the plantations. Mr Barnes relocated to Queensland in 2011 to establish and manage the region and then back to the Northern Territory in 2014 to manage the national Quintis’ forestry operations as Deputy to the General Manager of Forestry.
