Mr Ashton holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Western Australia, is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and Graduate of the AICD Directors Course. He has over 35 years' experience and leverages his strategic approach and business network in his role as a specialist in Corporate Restructuring and Finance and as a Professional Company Director, including his current Non-Executive Director roles at Aurora Labs Ltd and the Hawaiian Property Group. Mr Ashton has been Chair on the Boards of the ASX listed companies Gryphon Minerals Ltd, Venture Minerals Ltd, Resource Development Group Ltd and Empired Ltd amongst others. His former roles include President and Director of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, Vice President and Director of Fremantle Football Club Ltd, Chairman of Cullen Wines (Australia) Pty Ltd and Acting CEO of Royal Flying Doctor Service (2017-18).
Mr Henfrey recently concluded 10 years’ experience on the executive team of major publicly listed vitamin supplements business Blackmores, culminating in his appointment as CEO.
Mr Henfrey drove major change at Blackmores, particularly the significant move to become a manufacturer for the first time in the company’s history, and he oversaw the doubling of Blackmores supply chain capacity to meet extraordinary and sudden demand from China. His successful implementation of this strategy contributed to Blackmores’ net profit after tax for the 2016 financial year increasing by 115 per cent.
He has also worked in a managerial capacity at another prominent Australian business, Telstra, where he led a national specialist sales team of 160 sales professionals. He started his professional career in the UK telco industry.
Mr Henfrey has notably served as Board President of peak industry body Complementary Medicines Australia, and is a graduate of the University of Cambridge, holding a Master of Arts degree in Natural Sciences, specialising in genetics and molecular/cell biology.
Mr Matthys, B.Com UWA, has significant executive experience having spent 36 years in the resources sector. He has held senior executive roles including President Worsley Alumina JV, Marketing Director BHP Iron Ore, Alumina and Aluminium. He has worked in Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and The Netherlands. He is currently Chair of Council at John XXIII College.
Mr Sutton has over 25 years' experience in business advisory and management. He is currently a Special Advisor to the Asia Pacific region of FTI Consulting and is based in Hong Kong. Upon joining FTI Consulting in 2010, a professional services and consulting business listed on the New York Stock Exchange, Rod was appointed as its Chairman of Asia Pacific. He had oversight of all elements of the Asia Pacific business including FTI Consulting’s numerous client-facing activities, regional and global strategy, vetting of acquisition opportunities and management of all support functions including but not limited to the Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Marketing and Operations departments. Also, he was a member of FTI Consulting’s global Executive Committee. He moved back to a full client facing role in June 2017 as a Special Advisor. Before joining FTI Consulting, Mr Sutton was an Executive Director of Ferrier Hodgson with whom he commenced his career in Melbourne in 1988. He relocated permanently to Hong Kong in 2002.
Mr Fenlon has enjoyed an elaborate career in both public and private businesses, building success both for other businesses and his own, and being involved in executive and board experiences, all across Europe, Australia and Asia. Proud of the fact that his experience permits him to be an enterprise wide and transformational leader, he has worked extensively within retail, FMCG, services, new technology and well-being. Mr Fenlon joined Blackmores in 2013 and had responsibility for both territory and whole of business functionality. He was a Director of Special Olympics foundation for two years until June 2019 and is on the board of The Quest for life foundation. Mr Fenlon was appointed Group CEO and Managing Director of BWX Ltd on 1 July 2019.
Mr Fenlon has extensive experience with and at Board level – as chair, member and non-executive director across charity, government, advisory and private sectors. For him, it is about creating organisational and individual health and values whilst achieving strategic and financial outcomes – it is the marriage of those that he believes is the key.
