An Illustrious past

While the story of sandalwood (Santalum) is said to have begun in Australia, this tale is an epic spanning millenias; a golden thread linking countries and kings, crossing civilisations and philosophies across the globe. From a fragrance to please the gods, a potent balm to relieve headaches, an unperishable wood-fragrance commodity to be traded, and everything in between, this is the history of sandalwood.
